Scores injured as violent clashes erupt in Hajin against militant killings

Hajin, December 09 (KNO) : Two of the three militants who were killed in a gunfight with armed forces that lasted for More than 18 hours in Mujgund area of the outskirts of Srinagar district here on Sunday was identified as Mudasir Rashid Parray son of Abdul Rashid Parray resident of Mir Mohalla of Hajin town of Bandipora District, and Saquib Mushtaq while the third one was identified was Ali Bhai, who is resident of Pakistan. Mudasir Joined Militant Ranks almost three Months ago when Encounter took place in Hajin town in which three Foreign Militants were Killed. A police official confirmed KNO that the killing of three militants in the gunfight including Minor Mudasir. The officer said the operation was concluded in the area. Police officials confirmed the recovery of three bodies. Soon after the news about the death of local Militants spread, violent clashes erupted in Hajin town. Scores of people were injured in the Violent Clashes. They said that protesters chanting slogans, clashed with government forces by throwing stones on the forces. In retaliation the government forces tossed numerous tear gas canisters to disperse the protesters resulting in fierce clashes between forces and youth. They said more than Dozen people were injured in the ensuing battles. Authorities have suspended mobile Internet services in Bandipora District as a precautionary measure. Police Version : The police have identified the identities of three militants killed during the 18-hour long gunfight in Mujgund area located in outskirts of Srinagar city. The police identified the two militants as Mudasir Parray, Saquib Mushtaq, both hailing from Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipore district. The police identified the third militant as Ali Bhai, who is a resident of Pakistan, adding, he was the one who engaged the forces in the 18 hour long gunfight. All of the militants belonged to Lashakar-e-Toiba militant outfit.(KNO)
